Saturday´s wishlist: lastest crushes...

I have an addiction, I am shopaholic .... And to ease up my addiction (as I have a limited budget to indulge in clothes...), I went eye shopping last weekend, and stop by a few of my favourite shops, Mango, white stuff and Anthro. And I have a few items that I would like to add to my wardrobe...

Writing a wish list is not nearly as bad as bankrupting this month´s budget on clothing.

I have a huge crush on this season´s white stuff collection. While I was browsing White Stuff store, I realized that my wish list wouldn´t stop growing… I edited an outfit mixing a few of my favourite items from these shops...:

I think since since Spring already arrived it wouldn´t be too bad adding a few springlike items to my wardrobe would it...?

Scarves are a mum´s best friends!

I am still struggling with my post-pregnancy body shape... It has been 10 months and I still exhibit a mummy´s tummy! I know that I should be making some effort in exercising, but... I have so much in my plate right now, that I have no time or strength to make an effort to do it once I am home. And when home, my time is always consumed by my little one!

So a solution for this when tehere´s no time to exercise.... I turn to the second best thing: body camouflage! And what better way to do it than by diverting attention from my mummy tummy by accessorizing? And hence the scarves....  I have been piling up scarves during my pregnancy. At the moment I own quite a collection...

If you don´t have a huge collection (and even if I mentioned that I have quite a collection, I don´t have a huge one) there´s a way to maximize the scarves look  by using them in different ways. And here enters Wendy from Wendy´s lookbook. She is one of my favourite fashion bloggers, she is so imaginative when mixing up looks, layering and in hairstyling!

This video that I am posting from her is an ´oldie´, but I always watch it to get ideas about how to wear a scarf differently:

Hope this video gives you some ideas about how to wear scarfs!

Scarves present many other advantages for a mum besides camouflaging your tummy... :

Do you need some privacy when breastfeeding? Use a scarf while breastfeeding!
Your baby spat all over your top and you don´t have an extra one? Cover the spots with a scarf!
It´s cold and you forgot your baby´s blanket? The scarf  will substitute it!
Your baby is bored and you don´t have more toys to entertain? Scarf will keep your baby busy, particularly if it has some fringes...

Scarves are the ultimate mummy´s best friend!

Do you have any other ideas on how to use scarves?

My baptism outfit....

After searching intensively... Trying so many dresses, I finally have a dress to wear for baby´s baptism! I have to say, it was really hard coming by a dress that would fit properly...  And  that wouldn’t make me feel that I still have a huge mummy’s tummy!

There was other factor to consider, besides the perfect fitting... I didn’t want (couldn’t really) buy other occasion shoes, or scarves or cardigans to go with the dress, so besides having to fit properly, it would have to go with other pieces of clothes that I already own (and still fit!).

When searching for a dress a typical question was what to mother´s wear to their babies baptism? I found difficult to get a guide as most websites only consider the outfit that a guest should wear and not the mother. I did found this article that mentioned a rule, whatever is suitable to a mother of the bride to wear to a wedding should be suitable to the christening ceremony. Besides this, I went with my common sense... It should be an occasion outfit but much simpler than one that you would wear to a wedding, a good thing is that there are no forbidden colours (well, I would avoid white anyway).  I also found some trends for last season, as monochrome and florals.

And here is my selected outfit:

I found this dress at Monsoon, and this little beauty is really flattering. My existing tummy is pretty well camouflaged! The shrug I already owned, I got it almost two years ago on sale at Anthropology. The shoes, I already owned as well, I bought this pair at last year at Kurt Geiger`s sale season to wear to a wedding.

Any thoughts about this outfit?

Braids

Braids were fashionable this past seasons, crown braids, fishtail braids, pigtails, braided bangs, ... braided hairstyles are seen everywhere. And the trend continues, since Braid Hairstyles for 2013-14 continue to be extremely popular, as Paris fashion week shown, where braid was the favourite hairstyle for brands as Valentino. Throughout the beauty and fashion magazines celebrities as Rita Ora, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively are clearly following this hair trend.

I have to say that I am following it also.... Braided hairstyle is a practical way to style your hair, and if you are not the type of girl that enjoys to comb and style  your hair throughout the day, braid is definitely for you. You just have to style it before leaving home, and you can forget about your hair style until you get home. Another great advantage about braids, is that you have so many styles that you can wear it for any occasion, from wedding receptions to your work and still be extremely fashionable and look amazing!

For a simple look there are many varied types of braids easy to  do:

1. Simple braid                                                             2. Fishtail braid

 3. Side braid

And if I was able to braid my hair, it was definitely not that hard to do....
For a sophisticated look,  I fashion blog presents an easy to follow tutorial:

I will be definitely trying this hairstyle soon.....
