Magnolia reviews: Tommee Tippee Explora Baby Food Blender

My baby now is one year old, and we have been going through some ups and downs when tackling weaning...

But there’s one purchase that we made that has been incredibly helpful in preparing well-balanced and diversified meals for my cute baby boy, and that is Tommee Tippee Explora Baby Food Blender.

I use it every day to prepare his meals but then I usually cook on a daily basis. So the blender size is great when it comes to prepare my baby's meals, and I usually can get two portions from it (for my 1 year old now I get two portions, when he was younger I could easily get four portions from its cup). Do bear in mind that the cup size is small (it is a mini blender after all!) but as I previous mentioned, I am interested in keeping diversified meals, so I wouldn't be cooking large portions anyway! If you are expecting to use it to blend larger portions (for instances to freeze and user later) I would recommend that you choose a different tool for this purpose.

When blending, you can select two different speeds, and it also has a pulse action where you are in total control. This way I can easily control the food texture, from lumpy food or mash it completely.
I also have to add that the blender is a bit loud. My little one is definitely not happy with its sound when I am using it… But again he is not a big fan of other loud sounds!

The blenders cup, lid and blade is dishwasher safe, which is also very helpful.

I typically use it often for snacks, as fruit smoothies. And here’s my mango smoothie recipe as an example!

Ingredients:
1 natural flavoured yogurt (125g)
Mango (you will use approximately ¼ of a regular size mango)

Preparation
Cut your mango into small portions, add it to Tommee Tippee Explora Baby Food Blender cup. Add the yogurt. Blend it!

And it’s easy as that!
See your little one enjoy his just prepared smoothie!

There’s one other fact that I would also like to add, related to Tomme Tippee’s costumer service: they are incredibly helpful!
When I first purchased the blender I had a small misfortune with the blade, and I had to contact Tommee Tippee's consumer service online for a new one. Almost immediately they contacted me back and I received a new one two days afterwards.

I believe that this blender is a very good product, its definitely a good value for your money and I recomend it. I am using it almost daily for roughly 7 months and it still performs as   its first day.  In conclusion, I am very happy with my Tommee Tippee Explora Baby Food Blender!

You can buy it on several stores as MothercareASDA or Amazon. I got mine at ASDA, as it was on sale at the time.
Check Tommee Tippee´s website for more informatins about Tommee Tippee Explora Baby FoodBlender.

DIY project: Bird Mobile

After one year, I was able to finally finish my baby´s bird mobile!

It took a lot of time... Actually my greatest effort was to find the time to complete it. Thinking of the actual work, it was pretty simple and I would be able to finish it earlier if I actually had the time for it.

The final result is far from what I had envisioned, instead of attaching the fabric bird to dowels, I was thinking of real branches. however, having natural branches in a baby’s room for me would mean having to treat it, paint it, varnish and employ all treatments necessary to guarantee  that the wood would not cause any harm or cause wood infestation.

So I decided to simply use dowels, much easier to use and I only had to make some small drill holes. I used nylon cord to connect the several dowels.

The result, despite being different from my first idea, still is cute! And my baby just loves it!

Several times when he is throwing a tantrum I just pick him up and take him to see “the birdies”. He loves to look at them, laughs and always tries to catch them! And forgets whatever issue he was not happy with! So it has definitely fulfilled ots purpose!

What about you? Have you finish a craft project lately?

Baby and Me: Who knew babies are tech savvies?

I don´t know if you follow me on tweeter, if you are, a while back I had a curious tweet that might have left you confused... If you don´t follow me, here´s the picture of the tweet I am talking about:

But I did not tweet this. My little one year  old (!) tweet it for me!

Indeed. My. Baby. Tweets!!

I have no idea how he was able to do this, but he somehow managed to unblock my mobile, access my Tweeter app, and tweet! Really! It took me some time to learn how to do this (I am sorry but I am definitely not a tech savvy, some (many!) technologies do take me some time to understand/handle and only after a considerable amount of time, I am able to use it reasonably).

But for my one(!) year old baby it was a matter of seconds....

It is not uncommon for babies to be fascinated with mobiles/remotes/laptops/I-Pads, which is why when my baby is fussy and I am lacking on bright ideas on how to keep him busy/happy I usually give him my mobile blocked, and it keeps him happy/busy for some time. But this time he managed to unblock the mobile and tweet! So now I have one less fascinating item to give him as it is no longer safe. Who knows, next time he might be e-mailing, on facebook or what else...
I am keeping this tweet... It is his very first tweet ever!

I guess in a few months time he will be handing me some tech tips....

Do you have some tech stories of you little one?

And 2015 Is already here!

I can´t believe that one year has passed already...!

On 23rd of December my lo completed one year.

One year is gone, and I still feel that he was born yesterday. Time is really flying by!
He is growing way too fast...

And 2015 is here. I hardly can keep track of how much is happening...

This Christmas was the first one that we could celebrate properly as a family. Really last year, even though it was the first Christmas  we spend with our little one,it was impossible to celebrate. It took me a lot of time to recover from labour, as I had some complications while giving birth. So,  we were still in the Hospital, and I hardly remember a thing... I look at every picture taken and I remember some parts of it, mostly I remember more feelings rather than proper memories... And mostly happy feelings!

So much partying has happened this last couple weeks, celebrating my little one´s first year, Christmas and New Year! And now I am trying to resume a normal routine after the holidays break, and trying to recover from all the partying that happened!

Am I the only one who feels that is in need of some vacation after the holidays?
